Job summary

Sunenergy1llc is seeking an experienced Field Project Manager to oversee field execution of utility-scale solar and energy infrastructure projects. You will be the on-site leader, coordinating construction, managing subcontractors, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedules.

Your role involves leading multidisciplinary field teams, maintaining project budgets, and delivering projects on time. Extensive travel nationwide is required, with a focus on EPC project delivery and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • Minimum of 7 years of construction project management experience with at least 5 years on utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $20M+.
  • Travel nationwide; valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
  • Lead field operations while ensuring schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements are met.
  • Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal teams.
  • Conduct daily planning meetings and communicate with engineering, procurement, and management.
  • Monitor progress and identify schedule risks or construction challenges.
  • Ensure OSHA compliance, safety policies, and environmental requirements.
  • Review drawings, specifications, RFIs, submittals, and construction documents for proper execution.
  • Collaborate with engineering to resolve field issues and implement design changes.
  • Manage field documentation: daily reports, progress updates, manpower reports, production tracking.
  • Oversee quality control inspections and ensure work meets codes.
  • Support forecasting by monitoring labor, equipment, and materials.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and turnover to owner.
  • Develop relationships with clients, inspectors, utilities, and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop field engineers, superintendents, and site personnel.

This role serves as the primary on-site leader responsible for coordinating construction activities, managing subcontractors, ensuring safety and quality compliance, maintaining project schedules, and delivering projects on time and within budget.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on construction professional with extensive experience managing large-scale EPC projects and leading multidisciplinary field teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through project completion.
  • Lead field operations while ensuring compliance with project schedules, budgets, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities of subcontractors, suppliers, inspectors, and internal project teams.

  • Monitor project progress and proactively identify schedule risks or construction challenges.

  • Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve field issues and implement design changes.
  • Manage field documentation including daily reports, progress updates, manpower reports, and production tracking.
  • Oversee quality control inspections and ensure work complies with project specifications and applicable codes.
  • Support project forecasting by monitoring labor productivity, equipment utilization, and material availability.
  • Coordinate commissioning activities and support project turnover to the owner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, inspectors, utilities, and project stakeholders.
  • Mentor and develop field engineers, superintendents, and site personnel.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent field experience considered.
  • Minimum of7 years of construction project management experience with at least5 years managing utility-scale solar, renewable energy, or heavy civil EPC projects.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects valued at $20M+.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, budgeting, and cost controls.
  • Experience coordinating multiple subcontractors across large construction sites.
  • Working knowledge of contract administration and change order management.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and construction documents.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar platforms.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively to project sites nationwide.
