Job summary

R-2 Contractors is seeking a Project Engineer - Field to support field leadership on active heavy civil underground power infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to keep documentation moving between field and office.

The role emphasizes hands-on exposure to complex civil construction, organized work, safety, and the ability to adapt to changing jobsite conditions. Travel to various project sites is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent relevant construction experience considered.
• 2+ years of field/engineer experience preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and drawings.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day field operations and coordination under project management and field leadership.
• Review drawings, specifications, details, and project docs to support field execution.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change docs, meeting notes, daily reports, and document control.
• Track installed quantities, production, materials, deliveries, and other project information.
