Job summary

R-2 CONTRACTORS is seeking a Field Project Engineer to support field management on active heavy civil underground power infrastructure projects. You will coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen and subcontractors to keep field activities moving and documentation accurate.

This hands-on role requires organizing field data, tracking production and quantities, reviewing drawings and specifications, and maintaining clear communication between field and office teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of field experience on heavy civil or underground projects preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction plans, drawings, and specs.
• Willingness to travel and work across multiple project sites.

Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day field operations and coordination under project leadership.
• Review drawings, specs, and details to support field execution.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, daily reports, and document control.
• Track quantities, production, materials, deliveries, and project info.
• Maintain organized project records, photos and reports.
• Support schedule updates, progress reporting and change management.
• Ensure work aligns with project requirements and safety rules.
