Job summary

American Structurepoint, Inc. in Cincinnati, OH is seeking a Project Engineer to inspect construction work, analyze field data, and support project scheduling and documentation.

You will review plans, quantities, and submittals, while coordinating with the Project Manager and stakeholders to ensure compliance with specifications. The ideal candidate holds an ABET-accredited engineering degree, is an EIT or can obtain one, and has at least 2 years of construction inspection experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in engineering or engineering technology from ABET-accredited program.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain.
• Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection or related construction experience.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; exposure to design/markup tools (Bluebeam REVU preferred).
• Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or similar platforms preferred.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work on transportation, utility, and infrastructure projects to ensure compliance with state and federal specifications.
• Correlate and analyze field data, verify pay quantities, and review plans and records.
• Assist with scheduling, documentation reviews, and maintaining project correspondence.
• Prepare estimates, process change orders, and support time extensions and contract adjustments.
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and project stakeholders regarding technical issues and field conditions.
• Review project submittals and RFIs and coordinate responses with the Project Manager.
• Ensure proper documentation in AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or equivalent software.
• Maintain accurate project records, including field books, daily reports, and photos.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates, records, and recommendations.
• Uphold and promote all safety and quality expectations.
