Job summary

American Structurepoint is seeking a Project Engineer in Cincinnati, OH to inspect transportation, utility, and infrastructure construction and ensure compliance with plans and specs.

You will analyze field data, verify quantities, assist with scheduling, and support change orders while maintaining thorough project documentation and client communications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from ABET-accredited program required.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required or ability to obtain.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to design/markup tools such as Bluebeam REVU.

Responsibilities

• Inspect construction work to ensure compliance with state and federal specs.
• Correlate and analyze field data, verify pay quantities, review plans and records.
• Assist with scheduling, documentation reviews, and maintaining project correspondence.
• Prepare estimates, process change orders, and support time extensions and contract adjustments.
• Communicate with contractors, clients, and stakeholders on technical issues and field conditions.
• Review submittals and RFIs and coordinate responses with the Project Manager.
• Maintain documentation in AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or equivalent software.
• Maintain accurate project records: field books, daily reports, photos.
• Participate in project meetings and provide updates and recommendations.
• Uphold safety and quality expectations.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of construction inspection or relevant construction experience.
• Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
• Strong communication, analytical, and documentation skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and exposure to design or markup tools (Bluebeam REVU preferred).
• Working knowledge of AASHTOWare Project, Appia, or similar platforms preferred.

Preferred Certifications

• ACI Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I
• Aggregate Level I or equivalent
• Traffic Control/Work Zone Safety
