Job summary

Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI) in Oakdale, Minnesota, seeks a Project Engineer for heavy civil construction projects including dams, tunnels, and underground work across the Midwest. The role puts you in the field from day one, with responsibilities such as quality control, interpreting drawings, scheduling, surveying, and keeping daily reports and job costs.

Travel 50-75% is expected. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management and 1–2 years of U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management
• 1–2 years of U.S.-based heavy civil experience (internships and co-ops count)
• Able to read and work from construction drawings
• Willing and able to work on project sites away from home for extended periods
• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship

Responsibilities

• Implement project quality control plans
• Interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs
• Develop weekly look-ahead schedules to help the Superintendent stay ahead of project work
• Field surveying and layout alongside our crews
• Prepare work plans and schedule material deliveries
• Maintain project records, including daily reports, photos, and job cost data
• Support change orders and as-built documentation
• Learn cost tracking and scheduling from project managers who will train you to run your own work
• Learn, collaborate, and innovate on each project
