Job summary

Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI) seeks a Project Engineer for heavy civil construction, including dams, tunnels, and underground projects in the Midwest.

The role places you in the field from the start, working alongside experienced crews and traveling as needed from Oakdale, MN. The position offers a salary range of $75,000 to $105,000 per year, based on experience, plus comprehensive benefits including health insurance and retirement plan.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1-2 years of U.S. based heavy civil experience (internships and co-ops count).
• Able to read and work from construction drawings.
• Willing and able to work on project sites away from home for extended periods.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship.
• A plus: dam, hydro, tunnel, or geotechnical exposure; EIT certification; survey/layout experience.

Responsibilities

• Implement project quality control plans.
• Interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs.
• Develop weekly look-ahead schedules to help the Superintendent stay ahead of project work.
• Field surveying and layout alongside our crews.
• Prepare work plans and schedule material deliveries.
• Maintain project records, including daily reports, photos, and job cost data.
• Support change orders and as-built documentation.
• Learn cost tracking and scheduling from project managers who will train you to run your own work.
• Learn, collaborate, and innovate on each project.
