Job summary

Engineering & Construction Innovations, Inc. (ECI) seeks a Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction for dams, tunnels, and underground projects.

Based in Oakdale, Minnesota, with assignments in Minot, ND, you will be in the field from day one, supporting QA/QC, scheduling, surveying, and cost tracking. The role requires 1-2 years US heavy civil experience, ability to read drawings, willingness to travel long periods, and a degree in Engineering or Construction Management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
• 1-2 years of U.S. based heavy civil experience (internships and co-ops count).
• Able to read and work from construction drawings.
• Willing and able to work on project sites away from home for extended periods.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without employer sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Implement project quality control plans.
• Interpret drawings and specifications, perform quantity calculations and material takeoffs.
• Develop weekly look-ahead schedules to help the Superintendent stay ahead of project work.
• Field surveying and layout alongside our crews.
• Prepare work plans and schedule material deliveries.
• Maintain project records, including daily reports, photos, and job cost data.
• Support change orders and as-built documentation.
• Learn cost tracking and scheduling from project managers who will train you to run your own work.
• Learn, collaborate, and innovate on each project.
