Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform Field Engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and oversee contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to meet project objectives, adhering to safety, cost, schedule, and quality standards.

  • Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, work permits, job safety analysis, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring specifications and quality standards are met.
  • Manage external/internal suppliers and ensure scope coverage and delivery goals.
  • Assist in maintaining communication logs for external partners.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Respond promptly to RFIs, manage project execution plans, and update as needed.
  • Maintain effective communication within the project team.
  • Support contract administration and address contractual disputes.
  • Track and approve changes, maintain change logs, and escalate issues.
  • Follow-up on action items and review progress regularly.
  • Understand all project aspects to potentially fill in for the Project Manager.
  • Contribute to developing construction and commissioning strategies during project development.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
