Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform Field Engineering management, field inspections, construction and/or commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams, ensuring safety, schedule, cost, and quality objectives are met.

  • Serve as the on-site point of contact for construction and commissioning management.
  • Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, work permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  • Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  • Manage project documents from Development to Handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers to meet project goals and scope coverage.
  • Expedite suppliers to meet delivery goals.
  • Maintain communication logs with external partners.
  • Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  • Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, respond to RFIs promptly.
  • Ensure adherence to project execution plans and update as needed.
  • Manage field communication following the communication plan.
  • Support contract administration and resolve contractual disputes.
  • Track and approve changes, maintain change logs, escalate issues.
  • Follow up on action items, review open items monthly.
  • Maintain knowledge of all project aspects to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  • Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years experience in field construction or related area
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
