Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and assist in contractor selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete projects safely, on time, within budget, and to quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
2. Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, work permits, job safety analysis, toolbox meetings, audits, and HSES events.
3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials and equipment, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
4. Manage project documents ensuring deliverables meet specifications and quality standards.
5. Manage and coordinate with external/internal suppliers and contractors to meet project goals.
6. Expedite supplier deliveries and maintain communication logs.
7. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
8. Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, including RFIs and response times.
9. Ensure adherence to project execution plans and update as necessary.
10. Maintain effective communication within the project team.
11. Support contract administration and resolve contractual disputes.
12. Track and manage changes during project phases, maintaining logs and escalation procedures.
13. Close action items promptly and review progress regularly.
14. Maintain comprehensive project knowledge to support or temporarily replace the Project Manager.
15. Contribute to project development strategies including contracting, constructability reviews, and execution planning.

Qualifications:

Required:

• High School Diploma
• 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

• BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
• Experience managing projects
• Industrial gas experience
