Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will manage field engineering activities, including inspections, construction, commissioning, FAT at vendor workshops, developing ITPs, contractor walkthroughs, bid reviews, and selection. The role involves leading site construction and commissioning teams to complete site activities per project objectives, priorities, and contracts, ensuring adherence to plans and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Serve as the on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Oversee safety compliance including site orientation, work permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials, manage non-conformities, and material custody transfer.
  4. Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  5. Manage and coordinate with external/internal suppliers, ensuring scope coverage and delivery.
  6. Expedite suppliers and assist in communication and documentation.
  7. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays promptly.
  8. Respond to RFIs and support project execution plans.
  9. Maintain communication plans and support contract administration.
  10. Track and approve changes, close action items, and support project management as needed.
  11. Ensure comprehensive knowledge of project aspects to fill in for the Project Manager if required.
  12. Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university (preferred)
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
