Job Description Summary:

The Field Project Engineer will perform field engineering management, inspections, construction and commissioning management, FAT at vendor workshops, develop ITPs, conduct contractor walkthroughs, review bids, and support site construction and commissioning teams to complete project objectives in accordance with plans and specifications. Success is measured by safety, cost, schedule, and quality.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Serve as on-site contact for construction and commissioning management.
  2. Oversee safety compliance, including site orientation, permits, safety meetings, audits, and events.
  3. Verify receipt and inspection of materials and manage non-conformities.
  4. Manage project documents from development to handover, ensuring quality and compliance.
  5. Manage and challenge external/internal suppliers to meet project goals.
  6. Expedite deliveries and maintain communication logs.
  7. Develop and manage construction and commissioning schedules, reporting delays.
  8. Manage construction and pre-commissioning activities, respond to RFIs promptly.
  9. Ensure adherence to project execution plans and update as needed.
  10. Maintain effective communication within the project team.
  11. Support contract administration and assist during contractual disputes.
  12. Track and approve changes, maintain change logs, escalate issues.
  13. Close action items promptly and review progress regularly.
  14. Gain comprehensive project knowledge to fill in for the Project Manager if needed.
  15. Contribute to development of construction and commissioning strategies.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma
  • 5 years of field construction or related experience

Preferred:

  • BS in Engineering from an ABET-accredited university
  • Experience managing projects
  • Industrial gas experience
