Job summary

Fairfax County’s Department of Code Compliance seeks a diligent process server to handle timely service of legal documents and field work across the county. The role requires clear professional communication and safe operation of a county vehicle as part of daily service routes.

Key duties include documenting service attempts, supporting intake and case management, and maintaining confidentiality while coordinating with the County Attorney’s Office and the public.

Qualifications

• High school graduation and three years of experience providing administrative support in the assigned functional area(s).
• Experience serving legal documents in accordance with applicable laws and procedures is preferred.
• Experience using case management systems and GPS navigation to manage field assignments.

Responsibilities

• Serve legal documents to individuals, businesses, and other parties in accordance with laws.
• Maintain documentation of service attempts and completed service for court records.
• Perform administrative duties supporting intake and case management functions.
• Operate county vehicle and travel throughout the service area daily.
