Responsibilities
- Promote safe work practices by coaching employees, mentoring, and developing trust. Understand processes and regulatory requirements, and foster relationships to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with Safety and EHSS Departments to address employee suggestions and concerns.
- Assist in revising PSM procedures, providing feedback on implementation and improvements.
- Support plant management in addressing PS concerns and implementing acceptable practices.
- Help initiate controls (engineering, administrative, PPE) to minimize PS hazards, including managing portable buildings, siting studies, and MOC steps.
- Participate in Job Hazard/Safety Analyses to identify and address PS issues.
- Conduct safety discussions, training sessions, and interactions to ensure employees are equipped to follow policies.
- Monitor daily plant activities, answer questions, and address concerns.
- Review regulatory requirements to ensure compliance and assess program effectiveness.
- Perform PS audits and inspections, ensuring compliance and addressing non-conformities.
- Provide guidance on hazard identification, risk mitigation, and regulatory policies.
- Participate in meetings, audits, and inspections.
- Champion operational excellence by implementing procedures, identifying environmental concerns, and communicating findings.
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and report deficiencies.
- Coordinate with safety coordinators on daily safety matters.
- Apply PSM standards and conduct audits and inspections.
- Possess strong communication and leadership skills to foster a safety culture.
- Maintain knowledge of chemical operations, PS management systems, and metrics.
- Manage multiple tasks efficiently, prioritizing effectively.
- Stay compliant with applicable standards, codes, and laws.
- Meet Fit-for-Duty requirements and maintain necessary certifications like TWIC and Driver’s License.
Work Experience, Education, and Certifications (preferred)
- 2 to 5 years of relevant PSM experience.
- 4-year or 2-year degree from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
