Job Summary: This position supports Operations, Maintenance, and contractors by implementing Health & Safety programs, coaching on hazard identification, incident prevention, conducting safety observations, ensuring compliance, and other safety tasks. A strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards is essential to ensure regulatory compliance and develop understanding of company standards.

Job Description:

Responsibilities

• Promote safe work practices by coaching employees and fostering compliance with safety requirements.
• Collect and respond to safety suggestions and concerns from employees.
• Contribute to the development and revision of EHSS procedures and safety programs.
• Assist management in addressing safety concerns and implementing safety practices.
• Implement controls to reduce hazards and participate in Job Hazard/Safety Analyses.
• Research safety resources and ensure proper safety equipment is available.
• Conduct safety training, safety audits, and field inspections.
• Monitor activities for safety compliance and address issues promptly.
• Lead safety meetings and promote safety culture.
• Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations and standards.
• Support industrial hygiene programs and conduct safety-related field activities.
• Identify hazards and develop control measures.
• Assist in implementing industrial hygiene exposure monitoring programs.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

• Experience with health, safety, hygiene, and environmental standards.
• Knowledge of safety audits, OSHA standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Effective communication, leadership, and training skills.
• Understanding of chemical operations, safety systems, and safety metrics.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local safety standards.
• Meet Fit-for-Duty requirements and hold current TWIC and driver’s license.

Work Experience, Education, and Certifications (preferred)

• 6-10 years relevant safety experience.
• 2-year or 4-year degree in OSH or related field.
• Certifications such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, COSS, CIH, etc.
