Job summary

ASM is seeking a skilled HVM Senior Field Process Engineer to support on-site deposition processes (tALD, PEALD, LPCVD) on XP8 DCM/QCM or Sonora platforms. You will optimize deposition, troubleshoot, and ensure tool performance meets customer and ASM requirements.

In this hands-on role, you will lead on-site process qualification, track compliance, design experiments to improve film quality and throughput, and collaborate with customer teams and ASM groups to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with tALD, PEALD, or LPCVD processes, vacuum systems, metrology, and semiconductor manufacturing.
• High-volume manufacturing experience preferred, including deposition optimization on ASM platforms.
• Strong design of experiments and experimental analysis skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25% with occasional extended travel; some escalations may require extra hours.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site process qualification and optimization during tool installations and ramp-up.
• Track and verify compliance with customer specifications throughout installation, ramp-up, and warranty phases.
• Design and execute experiments to improve film quality, uniformity, and throughput.
• Troubleshoot process issues using a systematic root cause analysis and drive containment actions.
• Partner with customer teams and ASM groups to drive continuous improvement and tool-to-tool matching.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation; share lessons learned across the organization.
