Field Preventative Maintenance Technician

Job Locations: US-SC-West Columbia

Overview

The Field Preventative Maintenance Technician performs field service inspections and general preventative maintenance based on customer service agreements.

Available Shift Options:

• Monday - Thursday: 4 days, 10 hours each, from 3 PM to 2 AM
• Tuesday - Friday: 4 days, 10 hours each, from 3 PM to 2 AM
• Weekend: 4 days, 10 hours each, from 7:30 AM to 6:30 PM (Friday - Monday)

Responsibilities

• Contribute to a positive work environment and promote BMC's mission and values.
• Perform all job responsibilities safely, promoting a healthy work environment.
• Conduct oil, filter, and lubrication services, checking and filling fluid levels per OEM specs, refueling as needed.
• Follow documented CSA processes and maintain lube records.
• Read and interpret SOS reports and analysis.
• Provide service reports, oil samples, and inspection paperwork to customers.
• Inspect equipment for signs of potential failure and safety device functionality.
• Prepare accurate service reports promptly.
• Maintain service readiness of the field lube truck, including supplies.
• Understand proper startup and shutdown procedures of CAT equipment.
• Work flexible hours, including after hours when necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least one year of heavy equipment servicing experience or equivalent education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance.
• Ability to perform machine inspections and operate a service vehicle.
• Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Professional appearance and customer service skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficient with computers (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Valid driver’s license with a safe record.

Working Conditions

• Work both indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Use personal protective equipment as required.
• Physical activities include standing, stooping, lifting, and tool use.
• Must be able to lift varied weights and perform detailed tasks.
