Job summary

Thompson Power Systems, a division of The Thompson Tractor Company, seeks an Electric Power Generation (EPG) Technician to service and repair power equipment including electric and diesel generators. The role combines independent field work with team collaboration, requiring initiative, safety compliance, and a customer-focused approach.

Extensive training and ongoing education are provided to advance in the program.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or the equivalent required.
• 1–3 years of mechanical repair experience or a combination of relevant experience and technical education.
• Experience using personal computers and basic typing skills.

Responsibilities

• Plans and performs minor repairs using correct tools and procedures.
• Orders and returns parts for assigned jobs in a timely manner.
• Ability to work on basic components including engine, hydraulic, transmission, and electrical components: remove/install, disassemble/reassemble, minor adjustments.
• Perform Preventive Maintenance service according to factory guidelines.
• Demonstrates proper use of service information systems.
• Works as a helper in field service with an experienced Technician.
