Job summary

Wayne Farms LLC is seeking a Live Production Technician to travel between contracted grower farms performing routine tests, taking weights, blood samples, and administering vaccines as scheduled. The role monitors flock environments and communicates non-compliant practices to supervisors.

The candidate should have experience with live poultry, animal handling, and strong English communication skills, plus organizational ability and a proactive mindset for a fast-paced production setting.

Qualifications

• Previous live poultry experience in a similar environment preferred.
• Ability to humanely handle live animals to draw blood and fat samples.
• Strong mathematical calculation skills for vaccination mixtures.
• Good communication skills in English with growers and customers.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Self-motivated with initiative and sense of urgency in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Travel between farms to perform routine tests and collect weights, fat samples, and blood as needed.
• Administer vaccinations (spray and pump) according to schedule.
• Monitor bird environment and report non-compliant practices to supervisors.
• Manage vaccine inventory, temperature monitoring, and deliveries to vaccine crews.
• Maintain feed tank inventories and coordinate timely deliveries to growers.
• Assist in moving pullets to hen houses when required.
• Adhere to safety policies and wear protective equipment at all times.
