Job summary

Divcon Controls, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is seeking a Field PLC Engineer to design, test, program, and support PLC-based control systems for large-scale data centers and critical infrastructure.

The role is hands-on and client-facing, working with HVAC, electrical, and facility systems, with frequent travel up to 60%. The ideal candidate has 6+ years in automation, Rockwell Studio 5000 experience, and strong troubleshooting and documentation skills.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of PLC programming, controls engineering, or related automation experience.
• Willingness to travel up to 50–60% including potential extended site assignments.
• Experience with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley Studio 5000 or similar PLC platforms.
• Understanding of PLC logic, I/O, field devices, industrial networks, and control system architecture.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues in PLC logic, hardware, and communication networks.
• Strong organization, task management, and documentation skills.
• OSHA 10 certification completed or to be completed within the first week.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify PLC programs for HVAC, central plant, mechanical, and electrical systems in data center environments.
• Configure PLC logic, tags, alarms, I/O structures, and system parameters per project requirements.
• Test PLC logic and validate functionality prior to field deployment.
• Meet with clients to understand automation requirements and provide technical input.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, vendors, and field teams to support PLC scope.
• Document programming workflows, logic changes, system configurations, and commissioning updates.
