Job summary

Manhattanville University seeks a Coordinator of Field Placements and Certification to manage student teaching experiences within the School of Education's Educator Preparation Programs. You will serve as a liaison among candidates, partner schools, faculty, and state agencies to ensure quality placements and compliant certification processes.

The role requires collaboration with advisory and registrar offices, strong communication, and attention to detailed records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education or 5+ years in PK-12 education or educator preparation.
• Experience with NYS teacher certification/licensure requirements and processes.
• Familiarity with CAEP accreditation or state agencies.
• Ability to communicate with school and district leaders effectively.
• Experience working with data systems or student information systems.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and assign candidates to appropriate field placements based on program requirements and candidate needs.
• Develop and strengthen partnerships with PK-12 schools and districts to secure diverse, high-quality placement sites.
• Ensure placements comply with state, institutional, and accreditation standards (CAEP or state equivalents).
• Serve as primary liaison between the EPP and school-based partners, including principals and district administrators.
• Maintain accurate placement records and documentation; provide clear, timely communication to candidates.
• Monitor placement quality and serve as point of contact for troubleshooting candidate and partner concerns.
• Collaborate with internal departments (advising, registrar, faculty) to support candidate success.
