Job summary

Plains is seeking a Pipeliner I in Bakersfield, CA for an entry-level field maintenance role. You will inspect, maintain, and repair pipeline assets under supervision while supporting other operations as needed. The position emphasizes safety and adherence to Plains’ policies in a challenging outdoor environment.

The role requires basic mechanical aptitude, reading maps and schematics, and teamwork. Training and safety certifications are provided; valid US driver’s license is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to pass Haz-Mat and safety trainings.
• Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps, technical drawings, and schematics.
• Ability to work in a team-based environment with strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of station, pipeline and terminal facilities.
• Assists in routine equipment maintenance under supervision.
• Delivers parts and supplies to jobsites and assists technicians.
• Assists in pipeline coating or related repairs.
• Cleans and maintains pipeline rights-of-way and performs safety watch duties.
