Job summary

Acuren is seeking a PLI Technician for operations in Akron, OH. This role involves field inspection, data analysis, and reporting to support pipeline integrity programs. About 90% of time is in the field, with 10% at the home division; independent work in remote areas is expected.

Requirements include a high school diploma (some college preferred), technical background, and specific NDE credentials. Certifications in scanning or corrosion mapping are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus technical background preferred.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance roles is required.
• Must hold Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2.
• At least one of the following certifications is required or preferred.
• Strong safety awareness and adherence to procedures.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to required procedures and generate accurate reports for clients.
• Perform direct assessment of pipe condition including coatings, soils, and CP.
• Assess cracks, corrosion, deformation and manufacturing defects.
• Correlate field findings with ILI logs and inspections.
• Prepare and write pipeline integrity inspection reports and support other technicians.
