Job summary

Acuren Inspection, Inc. seeks a PLI Technician to perform field-based integrity assessments in Akron, OH and across the United States. The role emphasizes field work, data collection, reporting, and adherence to ASME B31.3 and industry standards.

You'll work independently in remote areas, with 90% of time in the field and travel, and 10% at the home division location. Safety, accuracy, and timely client service are essential to the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Some college preferred.
• Technical background desired.
• Experience working with pipeline integrity or maintenance positions.
• Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements.
• Current Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2.
• At least one listed certifications/endorsements (see below).
• Preference for NACE CIP Level I / CP Level I.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to procedures and specifications, including reports.
• Perform direct assessment of pipe condition including coating, soils, and cathodic protection.
• Examine pipes for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies.
• Correlate pipe features to ILI logs.
• Conduct fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG.
• Perform hazard assessments and follow safe work procedures.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment.
• Provide clients with quality services in a timely manner.
• Update pipeline integrity databases and FTP sites.
• Attend operational meetings with customer engineers.
