Job summary

Acuren is recruiting Pipeline Technicians for operations across Quinnesec, MI and surrounding areas. This travel-heavy role requires up to 90% travel throughout Michigan and nearby states, with 10% at the home division.

You will perform field inspection, analysis, and reporting to support pipeline integrity programs. Qualified candidates will have Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2, plus related NDE certifications and a technical background.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Some college preferred and technical background desired.
• Experience in pipeline integrity or maintenance positions.
• Extensive knowledge of quality and safety requirements.
• Must have current Magnetic Particle Testing Level 2 and Ultrasonic Thickness Level 2.
• Certifications: Creaform 3D Laser Scanning, Automated Corrosion Scan Mapping, Ultrasonic Phased Array or TOFD, In-situ Material Verification or NACE CIP I / CP I.

Responsibilities

• Adherence to procedures and specifications, including reports.
• Direct assessment of pipe condition, coatings, soils, and CP.
• Direct examination for cracks, corrosion, deformation, and manufacturing anomalies.
• Correlate features to ILI logs and perform fit-for-service evaluations per ASME B31.3 and RSTRENG.
• Conduct hazard assessments before work and follow safe procedures.
• Calibrate and set up NDE equipment; write inspection reports.
• Update databases and manage FTP sites; participate in meetings with client engineers.
• Provide on-job training and guidance to PLI Assistants and Junior Technicians.
