Claros Technologies in Minneapolis, Minnesota is seeking a Field Pilot Engineer to bring PFAS destruction tech from lab to field. The role focuses on field deployment, collaboration with plant personnel, and leading pilot deployments that demonstrate our technology.

The position reports to the Director of Engineering and requires up to 50% travel to customer facilities, working alongside engineers and chemists to ensure successful pilots and data-driven improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental engineering, or related discipline.
• 3–10 years in industrial processes, water/wastewater, chemical manufacturing, or similar.
• Aptitude for troubleshooting mechanical, process, electrical, or equipment issues.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% to customer facilities.
• Experience working in industrial plant environments with hands-on equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support prep, deployment, startup, operation, and demobilization of PFAS destruction pilot systems; optimize.
• Travel up to 50% to global sites.
• Collaborate with internal engineers, chemists, contractors, plant managers, operators, and EHS teams for safe pilot execution.
• Represent the company professionally at customer locations with technical expertise.
• Create and maintain engineering documentation (PFD, P&ID, GA, BOM) and manuals.
• Write experimental plans and SOPs.
• Troubleshoot during pilots and collect/analyze data for improvements.
• Cross-train team members on equipment operation and troubleshooting.
• Plan and conduct in-house process and equipment development/testing.
