Job summary

Luxor Scientific, LLC is seeking a Field Service Specialist to handle specimen collection and related field tasks. You will manage supplies, assemble and enter requisitions, perform phlebotomy, and ensure proper labeling, processing, and shipping of specimens.

You will also print and deliver test results to clients as applicable. The role requires following HIPAA/HITECH regulations and adhering to security standards.

Qualifications

• Phlebotomy experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of specimen collector experience in a physician practice, medical clinic or hospital setting.
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
• Basic knowledge of personal computers and proficiency with Word, Excel and Outlook.
• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
• Professional client service principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients in a prompt, courteous and helpful manner.
• Follow specimen collection procedure for collection through shipping.
• Complete test requisitions and obtain signatures accurately.
• Attach documentation to requisitions and manage related paperwork.
• Obtain and label specimens correctly.
• Package specimens for transport.
• Maintain inventory of collection and shipping supplies; order as needed.
• Clock in/out accurately in Luxor’s timekeeping system.
• Check email and respond to missing information requests.
• Meet deadlines in a multi-functional environment.
• Follow all safety regulations and procedures.
