Job summary

The Hospitality Hub of Memphis is seeking a Street Outreach Specialist to enroll individuals experiencing street homelessness into the Continuum of Care. You will represent the Hub, build rapport, and coordinate with partners while engaging people in outdoor settings and in transit across Memphis.

You will maintain accurate data in the Hub's CRM/HMIS, support warming and cooling center operations, and work as part of a collaborative Outreach Team reporting to the Outreach Manager.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with vulnerable populations and individuals experiencing homelessness is preferred.
• Current Driver’s License and a safe driving record are required.
• Punctual, task oriented, and able to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends.
• Outgoing, trustworthy and kind with strong empathy and communication skills.
• Leadership and conflict-management abilities are a plus.
• Ability to work long hours outdoors or in vehicles and lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reduce homelessness by connecting clients to shelter, healthcare, housing and supportive services.
• Build rapport with individuals and learn names, locations and barriers to exit homelessness.
• Stock and maintain Hub Jeeps and supplies.
• Maintain accurate CRM/HMIS records and report daily outreach activities.
• Collaborate with community partners within the Coordinated Entry System.
• Be flexible and supportive, contributing to warming/cooling center operations when needed.
