Job summary

SEIU Healthcare IL IN MO KS is a dynamic union seeking an Internal Organizer to mobilize workers, build leadership, and run campaigns. You will develop leaders, form committees, and coordinate turf plans across Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas.

You’ll recruit members, organize meetings, and support contract campaigns while representing workers and applying NLRA basics. Flexibility for weekend work and travel is expected.

• Desire to learn about labor history, bargaining, organizing models, and related information.
• Flexible to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines; accountable to leaders.

Responsibilities

• Move and challenge individual workers to participate in campaigns.
• Develop workers to grow, learn and lead within the union.
• Build worker committees for campaigns, neighborhoods, or workplaces.
• Create and execute turf plans and track work accomplished.
• Membership recruitment and moving workers to action.
• Organize membership and worker meetings and events.
• Support contract campaigns and organizing drives.
• Represent members and assist with contract enforcement and basic NLRA knowledge.
