Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking an Automation Technician to support automation-I&E in South East New Mexico Oil and Gas Operations. You will install, troubleshoot, and maintain PLCs, transmitters, HMIs, and related equipment, and work in a safety-focused team.

The role requires hands-on problem solving, SCADA monitoring, and adherence to lock-out/tag-out procedures. Candidates should have strong electrical and communications knowledge and be prepared for on-site, outdoor conditions and shift rotations.

Qualifications

• Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair PLCs and related equipment.
• Knowledge of communication equipment such as Freewave, XetaWave, RedLion, ABB, Cambium, and fiber optics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook).
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced Automation-I&E personnel.

Responsibilities

• Use SCADA systems to monitor operation.
• Perform Lock-Out/Tag-Out process on required equipment.
• Other operations duties as assigned.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required

• Ability to install, troubleshoot and repair PLC’s, ABB TotalFlow’s, Fisher ROC’s, Transmitters, etc.
• Ability to troubleshoot Electrical Circuits and components.
• Knowledge of Communication equipment such as Freewave, XetaWave, RedLion, ABB, Cambium, and Fiberoptic Systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Computer skills such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced facility personnel.
• Understand O&G production equipment and operations.
• Must be able to get certified to work at heights using appropriate fall protection.
• Must be able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
• Once adequately trained, Contractors will be expected to work a call out rotation. ( Nights, Weekends, Holidays )
• Required to work late as needed
• Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced Automation-I/E personnel. Agency Truck, Business Line will provide tools
