Job summary

San Antonio River Authority is seeking an Operations Technician I to maintain recreational features, trails, and amenities for public enjoyment and safety on the Mission Reach, Museum Reach, and San Pedro Culture Park. The role involves manual labor, equipment operation, and adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities include operating pressure washers, performing repairs, loading materials, and responding to emergencies, with training to obtain required certifications within set timelines.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with <1 year experience operating landscape or agricultural equipment.
• Must obtain Handlers Verification Card within 6 months of employment.
• Obtain CPR/First Aid Certification.
• Confined space entry certification within 1 year of employment.
• Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and insurable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Maintain public recreational features including trails, benches, pavilions, and signage.
• Operate a pressure washer to clean sidewalks and features; remove graffiti as needed.
• Perform routine litter pickup and debris removal.
• Load trucks with sand, gravel, or waste material.
• Operate service barge and tractor with trailer as needed.
• Deploy absorbent booms to collect contaminants in the river.
• Inspect and repair equipment and structures; respond to emergencies.
• Report safety hazards and follow safety policies.
