Job summary

Qualifications

• Park Technician I requires HS diploma or GED and 2 years outdoors/grounds maintenance experience.
• Must attain handlers verification card for herbicide, boater safety, CPR/First Aid within specified timelines.
• Certified Pool operator and Splash pad certifications within 1 year; confined space entry within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Patrols park grounds and interacts with the public to provide a safe, clean, and enjoyable experience.
• Maintains paddling trails (Saspamco and Goliad).
• May conduct guided paddling trips and paddling clean-up events.
• Reports daily status updates to the Park Crewleader.
• Operates park vehicles, boats, and performs routine maintenance.
• Performs tasks in vegetative management, construction, farm and ranch work, facilities and grounds.
• Fosters public relations and communicates rules for safe park use.
• Operates mowers and tractors to maintain vegetation.
• Applies pesticides/herbicides following label procedures; may operate splash pad.
• Performs related work as required.
