Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation and deployment of field and work management systems across operating divisions.
  • Collaborate with field leadership and operational teams to support rollout efforts.
  • Travel to divisional offices, jobsites, and field locations for training and adoption activities.
  • Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology.
  • Serve as primary contact during deployment and go-live activities.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans and deployment schedules.
  • Establish a network of field super users for ongoing adoption support.

The salary range for this position $75,000.00 – $110,000. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and overall fit for the role.

About The Role

This role serves as the bridge between Operations and Technology, helping field personnel successfully adopt tools that improve visibility, reporting, productivity, and operational efficiency. The position works directly with foremen, general foremen, superintendents, project managers, and office personnel to understand operational needs, gather requirements, provide training, and support long-term system utilization.

The successful candidate will spend the majority of their time working with users in the field and office environments, driving adoption of new technologies, supporting operational workflows, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. While some application configuration and system administration activities are required, this is not a software development role.

This position is ideal for an operations-focused professional with utility construction experience, strong communication skills, and an aptitude for technology.

Key Responsibilities

Field Implementation & User Adoption (55%)

  • Lead implementation and deployment of field and work management systems across operating divisions.
  • Partner with field leadership and operational teams to support successful rollout efforts.
  • Travel to divisional offices, jobsites, and field locations to support training, implementation, and user adoption activities.
  • Observe existing workflows and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency through technology.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact during deployment and go-live activities.
  • Develop and maintain implementation plans and deployment schedules.
  • Establish and support a network of field "super users" to assist with ongoing adoption efforts.
  • Monitor user adoption and system utilization metrics and recommend corrective actions when needed.
  • Act as the voice of field operations when recommending system enhancements and improvements.

Training & Change Management (20%)

  • Develop training materials, user guides, job aids, and reference documentation.
  • Deliver instructor-led, virtual, and hands-on field training.
  • Provide coaching and support to field and office personnel.
  • Assist with onboarding of new employees using operational systems.
  • Gather user feedback and communicate enhancement opportunities to the Operations and Technology teams.
  • Support organizational change initiatives related to system improvements and operational processes.

Operational Systems Improvement & Requirements Gathering (15%)

  • Meet with field and operational stakeholders to document business processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Gather requirements for new customers, operational workflows, reporting needs, and system enhancements.
  • Assist with the development and testing of operational solutions that support field execution and reporting.
  • Participate in user acceptance testing activities and system validation efforts.
  • Help identify opportunities to reduce spreadsheet dependency and increase operational visibility through system adoption.

Application Configuration & Support (10%)

  • Configure and maintain approved application components within Microsoft Power Platform environments.
  • Support Dataverse tables, forms, views, workflows, and security permissions.
  • Assist with troubleshooting operational system issues and user support requests.
  • Coordinate with technical resources regarding application enhancements and defect resolution.
  • Support data validation, cleanup, and maintenance activities.
  • Assist with reporting and dashboard administration as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Business Administration, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in utility construction, transmission and distribution operations, field operations support, construction technology, or related operational environments.
  • Experience working directly with field personnel, foremen, superintendents, project managers, and operational leaders.
  • Strong understanding of utility construction operations and field workflows.
  • Experience supporting software implementations, operational systems, or process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and training skills.
  • Ability to gather operational requirements and translate them into practical solutions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Teams.
  • Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and required safety training.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience within electric utility transmission and distribution construction.
  • Experience with field management systems, work management systems, operational technology platforms, or construction software.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform including Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, and Power BI.
  • Experience conducting field training and supporting organizational change management initiatives.
  • Experience working with operational reporting, production tracking, or job costing systems.
  • Understanding of utility customer reporting requirements and field documentation processes.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Combination of office and field-based work environments.
  • Frequent visits to active construction sites, service centers, and operational facilities.
  • Exposure to outdoor weather conditions include heat, cold, rain, wind, dust, and uneven terrain.
  • Must be able to walk construction sites, climb in and out of vehicles, and stand for extended periods.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Extensive computer and mobile device usage.
  • Required use of company-provided PPE when visiting field locations.
