Job summary
United Utility Services is seeking a Construction Manager to oversee power distribution projects across field operations, coordinating with Project Managers to ensure safety and quality throughout all phases. The role emphasizes on-site leadership, schedule control, and client communication.
The position is office-based at least four days a week and requires strong knowledge of OSHA standards, QA/QC practices, and subcontractor management to deliver projects on time and within scope.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, construction management, finance or related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience in power distribution, construction, or project management.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in project management software and MS Office Suite.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards.
- Highly skilled in Excel, Microsoft Project, P6 Scheduling, and other PM tools.
Responsibilities
- Dedicated site leadership and daily onsite accountability.
- Oversee day-to-day distribution construction and subcontractor activities.
- Ensure safety ownership and OSHA compliance.
- Maintain construction schedule and progress tracking.
- Ensure QA/QC and turnover documentation.
- Interface with Owner and lead coordination meetings.

The Construction Manager will work closely with the field operations and Project Managers in order to successfully oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of power distribution projects. This role involves making sure Safety is a priority and quality standards are upheld throughout all phases of the project. The Construction Manager will ensure safety, serve as quality control, and work closely with multiple teams and clients. If you are passionate about safety and known to have awesome communication skills this role could be a great fit.
This position will be in office at a minimum of 4 days a week.
- Must be daily full-time and onsite.
- Serves as the single point of field accountability for all distribution construction and onsite vendor/subcontractor activities.
- Directly responsible for day-to-day distribution construction oversight, including:
- Subcontractors
- Field crews
- Equipment installation
- Commissioning support
- Leads and enforces all site safety programs.
- Ensures compliance with OSHA, Owner standards, and project-specific plans.
- Owns incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Maintains and drives the construction schedule.
- Tracks progress vs. milestones and implements recovery plans for delays.
- Ensures all work meets specifications and QA/QC requirements.
- Oversees testing, inspections, redlines, and as-builts required for turnover.
- Acts as the primary onsite liaison to the Owner and Project/Program Manager.
- Leads coordination meetings and provides proactive issue escalation.
- Responsible for performance, compliance, and coordination of all subcontractors onsite.
- Ensures adherence to SWPPP, permits, and environmental controls.
- Manages proper waste handling and site restoration.
- Coordinates a safe, organized, and secure jobsite.
- Provides required facilities and access for the Owner.
- Drives punch list completion, turnover documentation, and training.
- Supports final acceptance and project closeout.
