Job summary

We Energies (WE) in Burlington, Wisconsin is seeking an Operations Supervisor to oversee construction, design, planning and scheduling for electric transmission and distribution. The role focuses on safe, efficient, and timely work while managing personnel, equipment and materials.

The supervisor may rotate to other Customer Operations areas to address workload and gain cross-functional experience within the organization.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, HSED, or GED.
• 3 years’ experience in utility or similar industry and/or 3 years’ experience in supervision of direct reports.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Good working knowledge of union contracts and employee relationship building.
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with employees, contractors, and community groups.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are a benefit.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and conduct safety meetings to communicate safety requirements, updates and training.
• Manage work assignments to minimize overtime and costs while maintaining optimal customer service.
• Conduct daily tailgate sessions to communicate work assignments, review procedures, and discuss safety hazards.
• Motivate and engage employees to increase efficiency, productivity, availability, safety performance and core expectations.
• Coach, counsel, and train employees for improved job performance; apply progressive disciplinary process when appropriate.
• Apply knowledge of labor contracts to scheduling, work assignments, and performance issues.
• Evaluate performance, coach, develop and conduct annual performance reviews.
• Ensure customer expectations are met through timely response and quality work.
• Supervise all customer requested work to meet negotiated dates.
