Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic mathematical principles and calculations.
• Knowledge of standard safety rules and regulations.
• Knowledge of procedures, techniques, use of equipment, materials associated in the repair and maintenance of highways and other highway structures.
• Knowledge of the maintenance rating program, skilled in the operation of a variety of power tools, heavy equipment, and vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Supervises employees, directs workloads, and plans and coordinates maintenance tasks.
• Maintains records, prepares crew activity reports and daily vehicle checks.
• Operates vehicles and a range of medium and heavy equipment; performs preventive maintenance.
• Performs manual highway maintenance and temporary traffic control duties.
• Interprets maintenance standards and supports safety/loss prevention.
• Responds to emergencies as needed.
