Job summary

The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Brooksville, FL is seeking a Field Operations Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of flood control infrastructure, bridges, and conservation lands. You will manage a team of staff, coordinate maintenance activities, and support emergency response during storms and disasters.

Starting compensation reflects pay grades for Field Manager 2 and 3, with annual performance-based increases.

Qualifications

• Supervisory experience overseeing staff and performance.
• Experience managing field operations infrastructure and maintenance.
• Knowledge of safety plans and emergency response protocols.

Responsibilities

• Oversee a team of 35 District staff with 5 direct reports.
• Manage operation and maintenance of water control structures, dams, levees and canals.
• Lead budget activities, requisitions, and equipment needs.
• Respond to emergencies and support storm/flood events.
• Ensure compliance with policies and safety standards.
