Job summary
The Southwest Florida Water Management District in Brooksville, FL is seeking a Field Operations Manager to oversee the operation and maintenance of critical flood control infrastructure, water control structures, dams, bridges, and conservation lands. The role includes supervising a team of 35 staff and coordinating maintenance, safety, and emergency response activities.
The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and annual performance-based pay increases.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or Equivalent and Ten (10) years related work experience OR Associates Degree' (or higher) and Eight (8) years related work experience OR Bachelors degree (or higher) and Six (6) years related work experience.
- ICS/NIMS training ICS-100, ICS-700, ICS-800 required within one year of hire.
- Four (4) years of supervisory experience.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a team of 35 District staff with five direct reports and provide coaching and development.
- Hires, trains, evaluates, coaches and discharges staff and manages performance.
- Assist with the section's budget activities and purchase requisitions.
- Support emergency functions before, during, and after major storm events and emergencies.
