Job description

The Field Operations Manager leads the execution of 3S Americas field operations across the United States — spanning installation and after-sales service. Reporting to the Director of US Operations, this role directly manages the company’s Field Supervisors and, through them, approximately 100 technicians. The Field Operations Manager is accountable for turning project demand into safe, on-time, cost-effective field delivery — owning field execution, productivity, resource allocation, and on-site safety and quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Field Team Leadership & Development

  • Directly manage, coach, and hold accountable the Field Supervisors (installation and service); set clear performance expectations and develop the field-leadership bench.
  • Oversee, through Field Supervisors, 100 technicians nationwide.
  • Own field-leadership staffing, supervisor coverage, and succession/bench planning.

2. Field Execution & Productivity

  • Accountable for field-execution KPIs: CAS installed per team per week, per-unit truck/travel cost, delay hours per unit, 3S self-performed install rate, and service completion.
  • Drive continuous improvement in field productivity and cost per unit; standardize field procedures (SOPs) across all teams.

3. Resource & Capacity Allocation (Supply Side)

  • Convert project demand from Project Management into field supply decisions, how many teams, where, and when, executed through the Field Supervisors.
  • Balance crews and equipment across concurrent projects to maximize utilization and minimize idle and travel cost.

4. Field Safety & Quality Oversight

  • Ensure on-site compliance with safety requirements (JSA completion, GWO currency, PPE) in partnership with Safety & Training; conduct field audits and spot-checks.
  • Ensure installation quality and customer hand-off/acceptance standards are met; **escalate** systemic quality issues.
  • Champion a zero-incident field culture and lead by example.
  • Serve as the field-execution escalation point to the Director of US Operations.
  • Coordinate with Project Management (schedule/customer), Logistics & Warehouse (tools, spare parts, shipments), and Safety & Training (certification, training).
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Experience & Certifications

  • 5+ years in wind-industry field operations, including 2+ years managing field teams or supervisors (people-management experience required).
  • Demonstrated track record improving field productivity, cost, and safety KPIs.
  • GWO certification (required); OSHA 30-hour (preferred; OSHA 10 minimum).
  • Working knowledge of equipment installation; ability to read electrical/mechanical schematics.
  • Electrical/NFPA 70E training a plus.

Leadership & Attributes

  • Proven people-leader able to build, coach, and hold a field-supervisor team accountable.
  • Structured, data-driven approach to managing field KPIs and cost.
  • High safety awareness; sets the standard by example.
  • Strong cross-functional communicator across operations, logistics, safety, and customers.
