Position: Field Operations Manager (Regional Safety)

Pay Range: $90,000-$110,000/ year

Travel: Required, 100% of the time

POSITION OVERVIEW

General responsibilities include providing direct oversight of field employees, managing day-to-day activities, and addressing concerns raised by the field team. Employees are expected to receive a prompt and timely response to questions regarding their employment, projects, and other work-related matters.

The Field Operations Manager is responsible for maintaining regular communication with all employees and subcontractors, responding promptly to issues as they arise. The Field Operations Manager will be informed of all new hires, project assignments and moves, and project start dates within their designated region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Team Onboarding & Support

• Provide immediate follow-up and introductions for newly hired employees during the onboarding process.
• Coordinate and distribute new-hire supplies and equipment, including PPE, laptops, iPads, and any other required materials.
• Maintain field team calendars by documenting PTO and sick leave and coordinating appropriate onsite coverage to ensure operational needs are met.
• Provide short-term field coverage or onsite support when necessary to maintain client service and project continuity.
• Respond promptly to field team member injuries, incidents, or concerns and initiate the appropriate internal investigation and follow-up procedures.

Team Performance & Development

• Conduct monthly site walks and meetings with field team members and client site representatives to assess performance, address concerns, and maintain strong communication.
• When monthly site audits cannot be completed, conduct quarterly Microsoft Teams meetings with all field team members to maintain engagement, communication, and accountability.
• Ensure employee evaluations are completed at the 30-, 60-, and 90-day milestones, as well as annually thereafter.
• Evaluate and document employee knowledge, skills, performance, and experience during site walks and field observations.
• Participate in professional peer groups, networking events, and industry activities as appropriate to support professional development and business growth

Client Relations, Account Management, and Field Operations

• Represent Diversified Safety Services professionally and positively in all client and employee interactions.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients while identifying and developing potential new client relationships and business opportunities.
• Verify that client expectations and site requirements are being met by employees, while establishing future goals and performance objectives.
• Document meeting notes, employee feedback, client requests, action items, and follow-up requirements in the ATS system for accurate tracking and accountability.
• Maintain accurate and current site information, including client contacts, project status, job progress, and estimated completion dates.
• Facilitate meetings and discussions as needed to address and resolve client, employee, and ownership concerns or operational challenges.
• Assist the Diversified Safety Services team with site evaluations, audits, and other field-related assessments.
• Take on client training

QUALFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Construction Management or related field is strongly preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience working as a field construction safety manager or related field is required
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a manager or lead safety manager is required
• Authorized OSHA Instructor and First Aid/ CPR Instructor
• Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation is required
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and in a team, must have the ability to lead a team
• Ability to work within a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Must be able to reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, drive, kneel, stoop, reach, bend, climb, touch and grasp, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds from the ground and waist level
• Special vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth, and peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
