LB Contract Supply is seeking a Field Operations Manager in Madison, WI to lead field execution across multiple projects and installation crews. This is a hands-on, field-based role requiring travel; not a desk job.

The right candidate will organize field work, verify site readiness, train installers, and communicate with project teams to ensure production targets are met efficiently and correctly.

LB Contract Supply is hiring a Field Operations Manager to lead field execution across multiple commercial projects and installation crews.

This is not a desk job and it is not simply an installer position with a management title.

The right person will lead crews, organize field work, verify jobsite readiness, solve problems, train installers, communicate with project teams, document field conditions, and make sure scheduled work gets completed efficiently and correctly.

You must also be willing to work alongside the crew when needed.

Your primary responsibility is field performance — not how many products you personally install.

What You’ll Own

• Direct and coordinate installation crews.
• Assign and organize daily field work.
• Confirm crews understand scope, priorities, and expected production.
• Verify materials, tools, equipment, access, and site readiness.
• Monitor productivity and adjust manpower when needed.
• Train installers and enforce quality standards.
• Work alongside crews when additional production or technical support is needed.
• Document site conditions that prevent scheduled work.
• Communicate professionally with superintendents, project managers, customers, and other trades.
• Verify completed work before crews leave the site.
• Help manage punch, warranty, and service work.
• Reduce wasted labor and unnecessary remobilizations.
• Maintain accountability for vehicles, tools, equipment, and materials.
• Provide meaningful input on hiring, training, discipline, and advancement of field personnel.

Our Project Environment

LB may have dozens of active projects moving at the same time. Crews may install one phase, leave while other trades complete their work, and return weeks later.

You must be comfortable managing multiple projects, changing schedules, recurring mobilizations, crew capacity, incomplete buildings, punch work, and shifting field priorities.

The office should never have to call multiple installers to figure out what happened onsite.

You should be able to answer:

What were we supposed to accomplish? What did we complete? What prevented the remaining work? What happens next?

Who We’re Looking For

Relevant backgrounds may include General Foreman, Field Superintendent, Installation Manager, Lead Installer, Commercial Construction Foreman, Glazing Foreman, Finish Carpentry Foreman, Millwork Foreman, Flooring Foreman, or another specialty subcontracting trade.

Direct window-covering experience is helpful but not required.

We can teach blinds, shades, mirrors, and our installation standards.

We need someone who already knows how to:

lead people, organize work, solve field problems, communicate professionally, and hold a crew accountable for results.

You must be comfortable using a smartphone or tablet for schedules, photos, field reporting, project information, and communication.

Sometimes that means directing the crew. Sometimes it means training. Sometimes it means documenting a site condition. And sometimes it means picking up the tools and helping finish the job.
