Job summary

Limbach Facility Services LLC is seeking a seasoned leader to manage field operations across assigned projects, supervising superintendents, foremen, and labor, including subcontractors. The role emphasizes timely, profitable completion and adherence to safety and quality standards.

The position entails coordinating multiple projects, developing schedules, and supervising HR decisions for direct reports, with travel up to 20% and a base salary of $140K–$170K.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of relevant experience (including industry and construction execution).
  • Current First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Current OSHA Certification.
  • Working knowledge of project management software programs.
  • Strong decision making, problem solving, and time management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop strong working relationships and communicate with diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with the requirements of drawings, specifications, and terms/conditions of project contracts, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must have a driving record compliant with the Company's policies and MVR requirements, and consent to ongoing driving record monitoring by the Company.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates superintendent assignments and oversees foremen, field labor, and subcontractor work activities on all projects.
  • Plans, organizes and evaluates projects according to the assigned schedule and given specifications.
  • Prepares schedules and monitors work progress against allocated budgets.
  • Closely monitors material and labor variances, so that maximum profits can be gained.
  • Provides support to multiple projects from an operational, financial, and resource standpoint.
  • Partners with project managers in overseeing the total construction effort in accordance with design, budget, quality, and schedule. Attends and actively participates in project meetings.
  • Provides technical assistance as needed, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection inspection of contractor or subcontractor operations to ensure contract compliance.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal/external clients and key stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with project managers and superintendents to create site logistics plans.
  • Communicates and enforces the Safety and Health Management Program.
  • Demonstrates commitment to an injury-free environment through personal accountability and mentoring.
  • Constructs detailed short-term schedules and ensures activities take place on/ahead of scheduled dates.
  • Prepares the Superintendent Deliverables Report to document weather and field conditions, trade and subcontractor manpower, progress, and other conditions impacting a given project.
  • Coordinates training and education to support field superintendents and engineers.
  • Acts in lieu of superintendents as scheduling or business needs dictate.
  • Executes HR-related decisions (promotions, terminations, salary adjustments, corrective actions, etc.) for direct reports.

POSITION SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE:

The incumbent assumes responsibility for managing all field operations on assigned projects, in order to achieve timely and profitable completion. S/he directly supervises superintendents, foremen, and field labor (including subcontractors), and exercises discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Base salary range of $140K - $170K

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This position operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely utilizes standard office equipment, such as computers, phones, copiers, filing cabinets, and printers.
  • Work tasks may occasionally necessitate travel to local job sites/field locations, which means intermittent exposure to the conditions typically associated with a construction site.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
  • In performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, reach, and possess an appropriate degree of both visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • This is considered a sedentary position, which means possible exertion up to ten (10) pounds of force occasionally, and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
TRAVEL:
  • This position may require up to 20% travel.
