  • Own all physical inventory: receiving, organising, and maintaining accurate stock at the warehouse
  • Lead weekly cycle counts and monthly physical inventory audits; resolve discrepancies promptly
  • Ensure all hardware movement - inbound and outbound - is logged correctly so system records stay accurate
  • Maintain storage protocols and ensure devices are properly staged, labelled, and ready for deployment

Job description

Position Title: Field Operations Manager

Location: Bay Area, CA (Onsite / Field)

About the Role:

As Field Operations Manager, you will own the physical side of how AIO reaches customers - from the moment hardware arrives at our warehouse through to installation, training, and ongoing in-person support at customer locations. This is a hands-on, Bay Area-based role with national shipping responsibility and direct customer contact.

You will lead a small field team, manage our hardware inventory end-to-end, and be the person customers and internal teams rely on when something physical needs to get done right.

What will your responsibilities be?

Customer Deployment, Installation & Training

  • Lead the prep and configuration of hardware for all new customer deployments - from inventory to customer-ready

  • Own Bay Area installations end-to-end: coordinate scheduling, lead or supervise on-site installs, and ensure every go-live meets AIO's standards

  • Deliver hands-on customer training at installation, ensuring restaurant staff are confident using the system from day one

  • Own installation SLAs - track team efficiency, identify bottlenecks, and hold the process to a consistent, high bar

  • Coordinate outbound hardware shipments to customers outside the Bay Area, ensuring accurate packing, labelling, and timely dispatch

On-Ground Customer Support

  • Manage the team delivering in-person technical support to Bay Area customers who are hard down, at churn risk, or require hands-on resolution

  • Build and maintain support playbooks that enable the team to resolve common issues quickly and consistently

  • Be willing to be in the field personally when the situation demands it - this is a working manager role

Hardware Inventory Ownership

  • Own all physical inventory: receiving, organising, and maintaining accurate stock at the warehouse

  • Lead weekly cycle counts and monthly physical inventory audits; resolve discrepancies promptly

  • Ensure all hardware movement - inbound and outbound - is logged correctly so system records stay accurate

  • Maintain storage protocols and ensure devices are properly staged, labelled, and ready for deployment

Team Leadership

  • Directly manage the local field team - setting clear expectations, running structured check-ins, and developing each person's capabilities

  • Build a culture of accountability where SLAs, accuracy, and customer outcomes are non-negotiable

  • Coordinate with Pakistan-based operations colleagues on system records and workflow handoffs

  • Monitor team capacity on an ongoing basis - tracking workload against pipeline, flagging when headcount is stretched, and partnering with the COO to get ahead of hiring needs before they become gaps

What are we looking for and what does it require to be the right fit for this role?

  • 5+ years in field operations, implementation, logistics, or a hands-on customer-facing operations role.

  • Experience managing a small team in a fast-moving environment.

  • Comfortable with hardware - unboxing, configuring, troubleshooting, and shipping technology equipment.

  • Organized and detail-oriented when it comes to inventory - you notice when something is off and you fix it.

  • Natural with customers: able to build trust quickly, communicate clearly, and represent AIO well in someone's place of business.

  • Valid driver's license and reliable access to transport for Bay Area site visits.

  • Restaurant industry, hospitality tech, or POS experience is a meaningful plus.
