Job summary

Hawaiian Telcom is seeking a Field Logistics Specialist to manage field logistics processes for the Oahu warehouse and outer island distribution centers. Job description

The Field Logistics Specialist is responsible for managing all field logistics processes involved in Hawaiian Telcom's supply chain within Oahu warehouse and outer island distribution centers. The Field Logistics Specialist will coordinate processes in the warehouse to ensure internal/external field delivery satisfaction. An awareness of and strategic response to external influences, such as internal customers, is vital. The role of Field Logistics Specialist encompasses transportation, stock control and some warehousing. It involves ensuring processes are in place to monitor the flow of goods and materials, and successful delivery to and organization at field locations.

Responsibilities include implementation of logistics technology and successful organizational development for all employees. Daily operations will include ensuring successful order completion, fulfillment and delivery to field resources. Additionally, recognizing logistics and storeroom process failure issues and developing hands on solutions for successful field technician material organization at island material storage.

Essential Functions :

• Oversees all facets of the daily operations of Logistics within the Field Support Services organization, ensuring compliance with Hawaiian Telcom policies.
• Assist in developing new and progressive means of delivering customer awareness and financially responsible service to department users
• Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives, short-and long-range planning; develops and implements projects and programs to assist in accomplishment of established goals
• Provide system configuration and technical expertise to assist in system implementations
• Ensure compliance with established procedures and maintain effective internal control over the physical product flow and accounting of inventory receiving, shipping, storage and other inventory areas
• Direct the scheduling and ensure performance of physical inventories
• Responsible for inventory planning, scheduling and general management
• Ensure adequate inventory of products in accord with inventory cycles
• Determines the plan for the storage of all inventory products using frequency specifications and replacement calculations to determine fill rate
• Conducts daily inventory analysis to solve inventory issues quickly such as locating product and processing inventory for pending sales or use
• Develops and implements Hawaiian Telcom inventory control procedures
• Coordinates and manages physical cycle counts and the reconciliation of any differences
• Ensure all warehouse equipment (scales, trucks, forklifts, cable cutting machine) are properly operated with effective internal controls over maintenance records
• Assist with establishing and maintaining organized material storage, staging, and pickup locations that support accessibility, inventory accountability, and efficient distribution
• Inter-Island travel is required

Education :

• Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• 3 to 5 years in related field
• 3+ years in warehouse operations and materials Management experience preferred

Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :

• Active participation in ISM desired
• Must be able to lift/carry equipment and materials up to 40 lbs.
• Must be able to operate a forklift
• Must be able to set up, take down, and climb ladders

Salary range: $60,000 - $90,000
