Job summary

ECHO’s Florida campus seeks a Field Crew Leader to oversee daily agricultural operations, supervise Field Technicians, and ensure that demonstration fields, gardens, and irrigation are maintained safely and effectively.

You will develop weekly work plans, coordinate crop priorities, support research, seed banking, training, tours, and events, and contribute to the overall mission through well-managed agricultural spaces.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in horticulture, agriculture, plant science, natural resources, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience may be considered.
• Three or more years of practical agricultural or horticultural experience including field operations management.
• Experience supervising employees and coordinating work crews is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily agricultural work across demonstration fields, gardens, production areas, orchards, and related outdoor spaces.
• Develop seasonal planting, crop rotation, soil fertility, irrigation, pest management, harvest, and field maintenance plans.
• Monitor crop health, soil conditions, irrigation performance, weeds, pests, diseases, and weather-related risks; respond appropriately.
• Directly supervise Field Technicians and provide clear daily/weekly work assignments.
• Train, coach, and support Field Technicians in agricultural practices, safety, and quality standards.
• Lead tours and engage visitors, donors, and tours weekly.
