Job summary

MEI is seeking a Superintendent in Virginia to lead field operations, plan rigging and crating projects, and coordinate schedules with Sales & Operations. You will oversee job-site organization, labor/material scheduling, and ensure adherence to MEI procedures while delivering excellent customer service.

The role requires overseeing crews, mentoring staff, and maintaining safety standards, with close collaboration with the Regional Office to address customer bids and site conditions.

Qualifications

• HS diploma with continuing education in Business, Project or Construction Management or related degree a plus.
• Minimum ten (4) years proven operations management experience or comparable field preferably within the construction, manufacturing or rigging industry.
• Excellent interpersonal, management, supervisory and project management skills.
• Highly self-directed and motivated.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office Applications.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

• Attend daily customer interface meetings and address concerns.
• Perform site visits to gather information for quotes and bids.
• Plan, schedule, and coordinate rigging crew activities with customer direction.
• Work with Operations Manager to meet goals in volume, cost, quality, safety, and schedule.
• Participate in hiring, coaching, training and performance management of crews.
• Instruct crews in best-known practices with emphasis on safety.
• Coordinate safety training and investigations with safety personnel.
• Develop strong relationships with customers, partners and staff.
• Review plans, monitor costs and project progress; prepare status reports.
