Job summary

Abbott Construction seeks an Assistant Superintendent to aid in managing field operations and deliver projects through final completion and closeout. You will assist with project plans, coordinate with trade partners, and ensure safety and quality across all phases.

You will review contracts, drive schedules with subcontractors, and maintain open communication with stakeholders to resolve issues and meet project goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years in related construction sector.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Experience with subcontractors’ scopes of work and quality requirements.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to solve problems and interpret complex instructions.
• Experience using project management software and ability to learn new tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing field operations to deliver a project through completion and closeout.
• Review contracts and plans to understand job requirements.
• Develop project plans including schedule, access, and resources.
• Procure tools, labor, and some materials.
• Coordinate with trade partners, architects, and owners to resolve issues.
• Drive the project schedule with the subcontractor team.
• Ensure work conforms to specifications and safety policies.
