Job summary

Abbott Construction is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support field operations and drive project schedules through collaboration with subcontractors and suppliers. You will review plans, coordinate with trades, and ensure safety and quality standards on site.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in construction management or related field and 5+ years of experience, with CMiC and PSMP knowledge preferred. Competitive salary and benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 5+ years of experience in related construction sector.
• Knowledge of building codes and blueprints.
• Knowledge of subcontractors’ scopes of work and quality requirements.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Has strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to complex instructions.
• Experience using project management software and ability to learn new programs.
• Two to three years’ prior field experience in commercial construction preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist field management with project planning and scheduling.
• Drive the project schedule in collaboration with the subcontractor team.
• Inspect work in progress for conformance to specs and schedules.
• Act as primary onsite contact to manage subcontractor teams.
• Review RFIs and submittals with the Project Manager.
• Enforce safety policies and report unsafe acts promptly.
