Job summary

NODA AI is seeking a Field Operations Lead in Austin, TX, hybrid on-site with up to 50% travel, including deployments overseas. The role focuses on growing and leading a fast-moving field operations team, driving safety, training, and multi-site logistics in support of autonomous unmanned systems.

You will shape tasking horizons, mentor a growing team, and maintain close collaboration with Mission Operations and Engineering Operations while ensuring readiness for demonstrations and field

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• 5+ years leading technical teams in field, lab, or operational environments.
• Experience scaling small technical teams, ideally in startup, R&D, or test-and-evaluation environments.
• Willing and able to deploy to forward locations overseas, including austere environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead on-site field operations at multi-domain field exercises and demonstrations, including overseas locations.
• Recruit, hire, and onboard Field Operations Specialists and own the onboarding curriculum.
• Develop training programs and certifications (e.g., FAA Part 107) and coach team members along career paths.
• Own safety program, flight-worthiness verification, timelines, and test-review processes.
• Coordinate complex, multi-site deployment logistics and tasking horizons with Mission Operations and Engineering Operations.
• Build lean, right-sized operational systems for rhythms, inventory, and purchasing.
• Drive deployment plans, checklists, logs, and post-mission lessons learned.
